Insurance Claims Guide

Comprehensive claim procedures and contact information for all insurance providers

How to File Your Visitor Insurance Claim

In the event of a medical emergency while visiting Canada, it is strongly recommended that you contact your travel insurance provider's 24-hour emergency assistance centre before seeking treatment, whenever possible. Failing to do so may result in the insurer covering only a portion of the claim typically around 80% leaving you responsible for the remaining amount.

In cases of life-threatening emergencies, always seek immediate medical care first, then contact your insurer as soon as it is safe to do so to avoid potential financial penalties.

To submit a claim, ensure you complete all required forms and include necessary documentation, such as original receipts, medical records, proof of travel dates, and confirmation of departure from your home country. Most insurers require claims to be submitted within 30 to 90 days from the date of treatment.

Remember to keep copies of all submitted materials and follow up with your insurance provider if you do not receive a confirmation within their stated processing timeframe.
